Six Pillars of A Healthy Brain Part B

Ok so how did you go with Part A? if you recall we looked at the first three pillars of a healthy brain, one that keeps that neurogenisis, the creation of brain cells, happy with our hits of dopamine!

Allow me to refresh your memory the first three; Love Movement & Novelity!

Each one as important as the other in our lives and most importantly for our cognitive function later in life!

Now let’s take a look at the others!

Nature; Head out into a forrest! This lowers your sensitivity to stress so that your FABulous limbic amygdala, a small almond shaped structure inside your brain, can signal “all is calm” knowing your safe!

It’s fact that trees next to a road will lower road rage accidents!

If you think of some of the highways in Australia or OS they are tree lined that all helps keep our drivers calm! However, anytime spent in nature is going to be highly beneficial. Even trees outside a school window is known to improve students performance! Basically all plants in your house or workplace have a positive impact on stress levels, go the green!

Omega 3; Our brain is a blob of fatty acids, the best ones around are Omega 3!

It is literally the building blocks of our brain, let’s face it you want to build a house you need bricks, your brain needs fatty acids and totally needs omega 3!

The best way of getting that into your system of course is fish, nuts, seeds, milk and eggs. But take note as if the cow didn’t walk around the paddock being grass fed, the same as the chicken didn’t walk around in grass laying her egg! Then unfortuanely those end of line products are tainted with, well let’s say added chemicals that will interfere with your body and most definitely your brain!

Pauses; Literal pauses throughout the day are important for your brain! Especially if you’re in work that literally requires a dedicated amount of focus!

It’s all energy your body is using and exhaustion can set it fast if we don’t consider the Pillars of a Heathy Brain and body!

What’s going on your priority BRAIN & mindset list this week?

See ya! šŸ’œ
